SXU Dining Services opens Eco-friendly Convenience Store
Located in McCarthy Hall, Rhubarb’s is Saint Xavier University’s all-new convenience store. Featuring a wide selection of organic products, from fruit smoothies made with organic sparkling green tea, to organic fruit, Rhubarb’s seeks to have a minimal carbon footprint. T-shirts worn by employees are made with organic material, and the carryout bags mare made with recycled paper. Products are displayed in woven baskets made from seaweed. Cups and salad packaging are made from renewable and compostable materials.Another unique feature of Rhubarb’s is the use of recycled materials in the flooring and ceiling tiles, recycled glass countertops, hi-efficiency lighting and an energy saving smart thermostat.
Rhubarb’s is affordable, healthy, convenient and smart.
